Some wedding days are perfectly polished. Others are perfectly real—and those are my favorite kind.
This Foothills Parkway elopement was the kind of day that reminds me why I do what I do. The mountains, the vows, the sacred quiet of being present—everything about it felt honest and alive. We started at one of my favorite pull-offs on the Parkway, with panoramic views of the Smokies gently wrapped in early autumn gold. The couple exchanged vows with the mountains as their witness, wrapped in light and love.

There’s something unshakably beautiful about the simplicity of eloping. No rush, no fluff, just two people promising forever with the wind brushing against their skin and the trees swaying in time.

After their ceremony, we explored deeper into the park—chasing sunlight, laughter, and spontaneity. The bride twirled in her gown, they shared cake on a boulder like it was the most natural thing in the world (because it was), and eventually, they waded barefoot into the cool mountain stream, hand in hand.

There was no pressure to stay clean or perfect. Just a beautiful willingness to be—to embrace the day, the mud, the water, and each other.
From the Couple:
The photos are absolutely stunning and I will be able to treasure the moments forever through her beautiful work. Besides the amazing photography and elopement planning Rachel is an absolute JOY to work with, she’s professional but so sweet and made us feel like she was a part of the family for the day.

Planning Tip:
One of the most powerful things you can bring into your elopement day is flexibility. Weather might shift. Your dress might get dirty. You might end up barefoot in a creek—and it might just be your favorite moment. If you allow space for spontaneity, the magic will meet you there.
